  • What is the different between Vetr Health primary care plans & pet insurance?
    Vetr Health actually provides veterinary services. We are primary care for your pets. If you have insurance they may reimburse you for some of Vetr Health services depending on your policy.
  • Does Vetr offer single visits without signing up for the primary care plan?
    We can accommodate single visits outside of the primary care plan on a case by case basis. All services are offered at an additional cost.
  • Is Vetr able to prescribe medications?
    Yes, we have a limited pharmacy that we carry with us, but we can also prescribe medications through our online pharmacy or local pharmacies.
  • Is Vetr able to do specialized lab testing?
    Yes, there are many things we can run with our in-house lab, but we also work with outside laboratories if needed.
  • Does Vetr offer surgeries?
    We cannot perform surgery in the home. We work with select partner clinics in the area in the event the pet needs something we cannot do in-home. Our own surgery space is in progress and will be available to our members in the near future.
  • Does Vetr offer X-rays, ultrasound or other imaging?
    No, we refer to our local partner clinics who can perform these procedures. We will have ability to do some imaging in-home later this year.
  • Does Vetr offer after hours care or hospitalization?
    No, these would need to be referred to local emergency clinics or our partner clinics.
  • Does Vetr offer emergency services?
    True emergencies need to go to a Veterinary Emergency Clinic. We offer sick visits to our members in a limited capacity. We are able to treat minor illnesses in the home, but may need to refer to a partner clinic or an ER for illnesses or injuries beyond our in-home capabilities.
  • What is Vetr Health's servicable area?
    We are servicing West Michigan. If you are farther than 15 miles from Grand Rapids there may be an extended travel fee. We are expanding services to the Lakeshore area and Metro Detroit very soon!!

  • What is the cost of a Vetr Health Primary Care Plan?
    -1 Dog or 1 Cat Household = $49.99/month or $599/year -1 Puppy or 1 Kitten Household = $79.99/month or $959/year -$34.99/month or $419/year for each additional pet
  • What do Primary Care Plans include?
    Both adult and puppy/kitten plans include in-home care, all core vaccines, wellness testing, unlimited use of our telehealth service, and access to our online pharmacy. Adult plans include 2 visits/year Puppy/kitten plans include 4 visits/year
  • What testing is included?
    Dogs: fecal with Giardia, Heartworm/Lyme/Ehrlichia/Anaplasm, full blood work panel, and urinalysis. Cats: fecal with Giardia, FeLV/FIV, full blood work panel, and urinalysis.
  • What vaccines are included?
    Core vaccines are included. Lifestyle vaccines are available for an additional fee. Canine Core Vaccines: Rabies, DAPP, Lepto, and Bordetella. Canine Lifestyle Vaccines: Lyme & Canine Influenza. Feline Core Vaccines: Rabies and FVCRP. Feline Lifestyle Vaccine: FeLV
  • Does insurance cover a Primary Care Plan?
    Yes, coverage varies depending on your specific insurance policy.
  • Does Vetr see anxious or fearful pets?
    Yes, we are fear-free certified and do our best to make sure we provide cooperative care in the most comfortable, stress-free way for the pet. In some cases we may come out and do a meet and greet first to make sure we are a good fit for your pets needs.
